JOURNALISM
As a reporter and interviewer, Valerie Andrews has spent over 25 years chronicling scientific and social innovation. Her work has appeared in major magazines, on PBS and the Internet. She is the author of A Passion for this Earth (Harper), essays about sense of place and our relation to the envionment, and is now working on an a book about social entrepreneurship with Allan Weis.
Also in progress: an historical novel called Dinner at the Atomic Café, about a woman mystic and the physicists at Los Alamos who gave birth to the atomic age.

As a consultant, Valerie provides a variety of services for publishers and authors, including book editing and the crafting of syndicated columns, promotional articles, podcasts and DVDs. She has worked with best selling authors Robert Johnson and Jean Shinoda Bolen, environmentalist Thomas Berry, former FedEx CFO Roger Frock and career consultant Cliff Hakim, founder of Rethinking Work.
Special expertise: business, science, medicine and psychology, memoir, global and cultural trends.

As a medical and science writer, Valerie has produced educational materials for both consumers and clinicians. Among her recent clients are Columbia University Medical Center, California Pacific Medical Center's Institute for Health and Healing, The Alexander Foundation for Women's Health, EVEO, Inc. and The Institute for One World Health, the first non-profit pharmaceutical company.
SEMINARS
As an educator, Valerie directs Sacred Words: A Center for Healing Stories, offering seminars on film and storytelling, creativity and life transitions.
MUSIC
As a composer, Valerie provides music for healing and inspiration. Her recent CD, Mindful Music, has been recommended by therapists and physicians. She also creates soundtracks for films and videos.
